"Amen Corner" refers to holes 11, 12, and 13 at the Augusta National Golf Club.
The name was coined in 1958 by Sports Illustrated writer Herbert Warren Wind.
He borrowed the phrase from an old jazz recording titled "Shouting in that Amen Corner," using it to capture the dramatic, make-or-break action during that year's Masters.

They gave you french fries and woman with hairy armpits, i think they have more than paid their debt...TIL that the froggies owe us one on the Bayeux Tapestry.
Heinrich Himmler and the SS-led Ahnenerbe (a Nazi pseudo-historical research organization) coveted the 900-year-old masterpiece.
They viewed the Normans as Germanic Vikings and wanted the tapestry as an Aryan trophy to hang in Himmler's castle at Wewelsburg.
In June 1944, the tapestry was moved from rural hiding spots to the Louvre in Paris under German occupation.
On August 18, 1944, just days before the liberation of Paris, Himmler sent a coded radio message ordering SS forces to transfer the tapestry to Germany.
Codebreakers at Bletchley Park intercepted and decrypted this urgent signal. They tipped off the Allies, who relayed the warning to the French Resistance.
France, you're welcome.
