That Beemer actually makes the Pan-Am look pretty. That's some achievement.
By the way, people say Harleys are ridiculously overpriced. A while back I configured a 1300 GS on BMW's website and threw in all the extras and it came to 30 grand. Almost double the price of a standard Pan-Am.

This morning a Yamaha Niken came round a bend towards me with its right wheel over the centre line - this is a bend where 2 motorcyclists have been killed in the last 4 or 5 years. There’s a banking ti the inside so nowhere for a car to go. Must’ve missed him by inches.
Anyway, his riding buddy behind was on a Pan Am - at least he was positioned properly.
I see that a lot up here on our twisty Pennine roads. Riders who routinely cut the corners because they've fucked up their road positioning and their lines. Or they don't know how to look through bend or they're just following their mates and riding beyond their ability (it's usually the rider at the rear of the pack who gets it wrong). Trouble is there's a lot of car drivers who do the same. When the two of them meet on an apex it's a disaster waiting to happen.
