I've been thinking researching (Google) about CO2 levels over the last 2000 years.
What I cannot find is any real discussion on.

1. IS CO2 Levels a cause or just an indicator of average world temperature change?
2. How do we know what levels cause what temperature change, given that water vapour (clouds) are the very best at trapping heat?
There's a clever lady called Judith Curry can probably answer your question - bit of a science geek you know :unsure:

Ireland is .000001 of global emissions with 5.1 million people but we have a power grid struggling to cope as we turned off 2 old coal fired power plants as China turns one on every 2 months 😆😆😆

I was thinking about cow shit only the other day. I recalled a farmer I used to know, who put human and cow shit (slurry) on his arable land as it was full of nitrates, phosphates, potash? as well as a host of other things that can benefit soil health and support crop growth.

So I was thinking, If we all become vegan/vegetarian then will have to substitute the cow slurry with chemicals for the arable food growth.

How could it be the best option to cover fields for food with even more chemicals, when we have the perfect recycling system already with the poop :unsure:
 
That’s a big part of the problem, and something the eco-zealots ignore.
Raising livestock regenerates the land naturally. Most arable farms don’t also have livestock, and so no access to natural fertiliser.
Grass fed beef and lamb is carbon negative as the grass they eat soaks up co2. Cow farts is bollocks because the methane comes from the cows from eating the grass that soaks up the co2.
Also, most grazing land isn’t suitable for arable anyway.
Nature’s got it right.

Unfortunately it can also contain Sanitary towels, tampons, condoms, cuddly toys etc.

Because it's not.

Back in the day when I was counsel for Dept of Ag I learnt more about cropping and livestock than I ever wanted to know.

Broadacre crops (which are a monoculture) fuck up the soil by drawing certain nutrients and not others, creating an imbalance without intervention. Human shit and cow shit is not a customised solution. Different fertilisers are created for different crops specific to their profile. In addition crops (except some GM strains) are defenceless against insects and diseases. So they need spraying with insecticides, fungicides and herbicides (to stop weeds).

Without that lot (and lots of water) you won't have a successful result for the thousands of hectares of crops you have sown.

Crops as with all plants, do have defences when grown in their natural state, in their natural geographic area.

But the main issue here, is that virtually all food plants have been modified over a few hundred years or so...some of them don't and never did exist in nature. Even organic food plants are effectively not natural.

Totally agree with what you said about monoculture crops - vast areas of arable land will be stripped of the nutrients they need to sustain growing anything.

Didn't know you were a creationist.

If you mean since ancient times - there are billions of people on the planet needing feeding these days hence mass scale agriculture. Growing a crop on thousands of hectares is a far more complex venture than tilling an acre or two.

No, because as a farmer this is all in a days work. You don't look at a lawyers instruction book before work every day and neither does a farmer. He knows his fields (and parts thereof) wet patches, stoney bits, bits with overhanging trees, or that create frost pockets etc. etc. etc. The year is a cycle. You've done it all before and you'll do it all again with subtle changes.

This is no different to "tilling an acre or two" you could say that there was even less room for error with the smaller farmer as his livelihood depends on getting it all right.
