This is a documentary by the same dude, very interesting!!Kary Mullis, LSD and PCR
I found this fascinating.
I did LSD for 5 years in my 20s, loved it, the thing is when you are on it the world becomes a joke!! They call it the truth drug and imo that is correct, it's almost impossible to take anything seriously!! You see the facade that so called normal life fall away and how pathetic modern life is, it's all bullshit!!Kary Mullis, LSD and PCR

I get that without taking it. But I wouldn't be averse to trying it.I did LSD for 5 years in my 20s, loved it, the thing is when you are on it the world becomes a joke!! I couldn't do it now, to much going on in my brain and i would without doubt have a really bad trip!! In my 20s i didn't have as much shit to deal with as i do now but saying that i did have a one off and thought i was breathing with my stomach and when drinking it was going into my lungs!!I get that without taking it. But I wouldn't be averse to trying it.
There is a vid on youtube of it being made!!**The crankshaft for a Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C engine, the largest reciprocating engine in the world, used in large container ships. It's a 1810-liter engine that generates 108,920 horsepower at 102 RPM, and it idles at 22 RPM, taking almost 3 seconds per rotation. This crankshaft weighs 300 tons.**

I've looked after smaller ones as part of my job, oil tanker size so not quite as bigThere is a vid on youtube of it being made!!![]()

Power is torque times speed so you can calculate it at 102 rpmJeez I wonder what the torque figure is?
So 108,920 x 102?Power is torque times speed so you can calculate it at 102 rpm![]()
5608312 lb/ft or 7604871 nmSo 108,920 x 102?
lbs/ft or nm?
No, power = torque x speed so torque = power / speedSo 108,920 x 102?
lbs/ft or nm?
I believe when calculating torque from given HP and RPM figures for an internal combustion engine, you multiply the HP by 5252 then divide by the RPM.No, power = torque x speed so torque = power / speed

Forgot to add, to change from lb/ft to nm you multiply by 1.356I believe when calculating torque from given HP and RPM figures for an internal combustion engine, you multiply the HP by 5252 then divide by the RPM.
Baz, I think your figures are for calculating torque for electric motors cocker.
Torque is torque Bob, you are correct however, just depends on whether you want lbs/ft or Nm as the outcome, either can be converted to each otherI believe when calculating torque from given HP and RPM figures for an internal combustion engine, you multiply the HP by 5252 then divide by the RPM.

Aye mate, torque is torque and calculated by how that force is produced.Torque is torque Bob, you are correct however, just depends on whether you want lbs/ft or Nm as the outcome, either can be converted to each other![]()
One day I may do your calculations both ways to confirm, but not todayAye mate, torque is torque and calculated by how that force is produced.
If you take big Sonja as an example she produces 165 bhp @ 9000 rpm, by your equation she would produce 0.018 lb/ft of torque
My equation would be 96.29 lb/ft or 130 nm of torque.
