Purely by sheer damn luck i cam across that mod the other day for my Hyper (and a multitude of other ducs of the same age/ilk)....the throttle mod (using the throttle tube from an R1/R6/various yams....a domino throttle was on my list of jobs/upgrades to do but went off my radar....has anyone compared the Yam throttle tube to the domino....?

Looking forwards to thoughts as im on the fence on whether to go for the Domino or just do the cheapie option (less hassle) as it goes into the existing housing...

I applied this mod to my 999S many years ago,
I regret it not one bit. One of the best bangs per buck in terms of efficiency and ergonomics you can make for the T9.

Do you know which Domino cam its equivalent to? just looking for comparisons...! Thanks for the reply - that is good to know...

As i say i did kinda stumble across it....i thought at the time...how the fuck did i not know about this!!....after having 3 hypers over 15 years or so...!

I did the mod on both my 999 and 1198. I do not know the dimensions of the cam. What the mod meant was the zero to wide open was a single rotation movement, whereas with the OEM it required a two stage method with the throttle rotation. At the time the throttle tubes were £12-14 brand new from Yamaha.

I don't know, sorry. All I know is it was the 2005 Yam R6 that did the business for the T9.

Yeah about 30 quid now but cheaper than a Domino...!

Well, maybe not as it would seem....took it all apart... (and i might add i got the same part number so ive no idea how anyone elses worked!) first and foremost the bit that the cable goes into was to wide so had to sand that down (so commited at that point) - then when i fitted it it obvously went the right way and then going back the other way it just span round...fat lot of use that was!! ordering Domino now...!

Edit: i might be wrong here but i think the throttle housing for my hyper is different to (other Ducs) just looked at a 999 and its looks to be different....ah well, live and learn...

I had £25 motocross single cable throttles fitted to my racebikes much cheaper than domino obviously and really quick action.

Well, it doesnt appear to be that simple...the hyper throttle shape is different to any other one id seen....should have known!
