Vespa is promising its biggest celebrations yet as part of its 80-year anniversary in 2026.
Scooters do nothing for me but I've got to respect the scooter boys who ride serious miles on the things. You see them up here quite often on the A68, probably headed for Scotland or coming back from there. Always loaded up to the gunwales with luggage, most of it in bin liners old-school style. They ride the length and breadth of the country on those little bikes in all weathers going to rallies. And then you see 30 grand adventure bikes with all the accessories that rarely get ridden further than the local bike meet.
A few times a year there are scooter meets in Scarborough and Bridlington.
I used to enjoy pottering along behind crowds of them on my way home from work inhaling 2 stroke fumes
Reminded me of my youth when we blasted around the country on Japanese 250s
They are dedicated fellas you couldn't pass a lay by or farm entrance that didn't have a crowd of old blokes stood scratching their heads around a stripped down scooter

Morecambe had its annual scooter rally a couple of weekends ago - saw plenty on their way there.
I got talking to a bloke while waiting for my Speedie getting serviced who rode to the Swiss alps on his, with his Mrs driving their car. I thought she must be a pain in the arse for him to do that.

And then you have Vespas which are fab for all genders but you do need to have a love for incredible iconic design, not something what a bimota owner can grasp
, maybe better to stick to collecting sofa’s and hairdressers kit cars
I have many bikes of which the Forums most aesthetically pleasing is one and don't own a Porsche or any other open top roadster (or a Diavel for that matter) but I do have a rather wonderful sofaAnd then you have Vespas which are fab for all genders but you do need to have a love for incredible iconic design, not something what a bimota owner can grasp
