Rule of thumb for us here is double the UK price and knock od about 10%.... a base model full sized range rover here starts at 165,000 euro that's not a single option piicked 👀

VRT .. an illegal tax paid on the vehicle including the Vat so tax on tax .... we are fined 200 million a year by Europe for it but the government takes in 1.5 billion so we are paying the most for cars in Europe... the higher end the car the higher the tax rate 😭

Jeez, but where does the bulk of that go? Manufacturer; duty; vehicle tax; VAT?

It’s a piss take isn’t it? Duty is paid on import price. Then vehicle tax is a percentage on top of that (tax on top of tax) then VAT on top (tax on top of tax on top of tax)

Yep ... price of car plus duty plus 23% vat then vehicle registration tax.VRT is another 35% roughly again on higher end cars ... as I say double the UK price to allow for exchange rates and tax and it's pretty close to the price here 👀
