I suspect KTM's concerns were based more on the likelihood of failure of the riders rather than their bikes, plus KTM get all the positive publicity they need from Dakar and other off-road events.Surely the support would have been the same, whatever the bike used?

Absolutely agree one of the reasons I got rid of mine I could pull up at a cafe and be one of 10-15 GS, s but a great bike and monumental for BMW motorcyclesEvery **** has one now, market saturation
