Clutch plates in portimao

I'm at portimao and my clutch is buggered... Or should I say I buggered my clutch before I left England.

I changed the clutch height to 36.5mm, as its a track bike put it on paddock stands, put it in gear and the rear wheel span, I thought great, do the fork seals.

Im here, the weather's great but I can't pull away cos of the amount of slip.

I've had the basket apart and I'm convinced there's a steel plate missing from when I've put it back together in a hurry...

Questionis does anyone know anywhere near portimao I can buy a steel clutch plate or a new clutch pack? Are there any ducati friends anywhere near here with some spare ones in a box in the garage??

I've got 2 days left after today, I've also got a hire car so I can collect!!

Please chaps.... I need some help!!!

There is a motorbike shop on the way back into Portimao from the track. It's on a small roundabout but its easy to spot. You will need to google it obviously for directions.
I have used them a couple of times and they even ordered parts in for me. The problem you have is its Friday so parts delivery will be a problem if not in stock.
They are very helpful though so worth a visit.
 
1st day on track. What a circuit.... Absolutely amazing.

So, I get the bmw go to pull out of the garage and it's race shift....

So I'm new track, new bike with auto blip and upside down gears😂

I tried blowing it up by selecting 2nd instead of 4th on the straight up towards hotel😂😂 that was a moment!!

After the first day of being gutted about my 749 the bmw has put a smile on my face. It's so rapid and unbelievably forgiving. I'm being moved up to group 2 tomoz and can't wait. I've had loads of kneedown and wheelies. I have got some go pro footage, shame it's not the duc but it still shows how awesome the track.

The duc will be sorted as soon as I get home, and is still my baby but... The bmw is brilliant. Insert cheesy pit picture

🤣. I did a track day once, around 1999. A Ducati day on 748s (I’d just bought one) at Brands Hatch. It was pissing down. I was so slow around the bends, afraid I’d fall off, I was holding everyone else up (probably not but it seemed that way to me). I then got red flagged and banned for the rest of the day because I didn’t follow the instructors instruction. To be fair to me, I wear hearing aids, had told the instructors this and took them out for the session, this was in the day before intercoms, and the instructor overtook everyone telling them to pull over at the end of the this lap as the rain was so bad, I never heard him and stayed out for another lap. That was my day over and done with. Never tried again. Now cars, that’s a different issue, done loads in a car, especially when I had the porker.

I don’t think I’m cut out for riding bikes on a track, Steady Eddie, that’s me on the road. Don’t get me wrong I can put a turn of speed on when I want but only within the realms of what I feel is safe.

I am not a riding god but i have no reason to do that, as i say to my son and the mother of him do not ride out of your comfort zone. I was on my 996 once and had a to do with two guys, they where fucking stupid crazy, i blew them away then self preservation kicked in!! I love to ride and that is as far as i love it since my first ride on a RM50 back in the day. (y)
