There was something on the telly last night about how sea level rise was affecting people in Scotland, I couldn't even watch it FFS they've just extended aberdeen harbour, what was the point of that if the sea level if actually rising
Its all very well you lot laughing about it but you are obviously unaware that the areas affected by the rises suffer from a phenomenon of sensitive sea water that remains local to the area as opposed to finding a level across the globe ( sorry flat earthers) like the rest of the sea water around the world does, sea level by definition.
This phenomenon is known as Climatic Underwater Network Theory or C.U.N.T. for short.
For those that are skeptics I suggest you google C.U.N.T. It`s well worth taking a peek.

Taken at face value this shows an increase of around 1 unit over 50 years. It would be interesting to see charts covering the last 500 years and 5000 years too for a bit more perspective.
Just take the data from the stations with the highest readings and move the other stations to warmer areas because they are obviously in the wrong place.

No more cooling then, why’s that ?
I can’t help thinking it’s definitely (in my life time anyway) getting warmer, winters nowhere near as cold and less snow, but is it ‘man made’ or possibly a 500 or 1000 year natural cycle. Could be that the planet will naturally keep getting hotter until humans can’t survive on it.

If this was correct the Panama Canal would be flat instead of containing several locks to allow for the differing sea levels between the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.
From what I have just read of the Panama Canal the locks are required because there are hills on the land between the 2 oceans which prevent the oceans from flowing into each other. Rather than excavate all the way down to sea level for the full length of the canal locks were used instead to raise the ships up and then back down. The lift required is approx 25m.
I also learned that the sea level is not entirely constant but instead is affected by gravity , temperature , river discharge and more :-

Sea level is about 20 cm higher on the Pacific side than the Atlantic due to the water being less dense on average on the Pacific side and due to the prevailing weather and ocean conditions. Such sea level differences are common across many short sections of land dividing ocean basins.
