Just Stop Oil protesters who threw soup on Van Gogh painting jailed
Two Just Stop Oil activists have been jailed after throwing tinned tomato soup over Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers masterpiece.
Anna Holland and Phoebe Plummer, both 22, were found guilty of criminal damage at Southwark Crown Court in July.
Plummer was sentenced to two years and Holland received 20 months on Friday.

So earlier today I saw a report saying the rainfall was more than normal and was due to man made climate change (Global Warming) and the effect it has on producing more moisture in the air: but now they are saying droughts will be due to Global Warming too.
Southern Water said the idea was a "last-resort contingency measure" in case of extreme droughts in the early 2030s.

Growing maize and producing ethanol from its starch ends up creating more greenhouse gas emissions than petrol – tilling the land for maize releases carbon in the soil, fertilisers produce their own emissions and emissions are given off when ethanol is burned in engines.
If that were not bad enough, higher ethanol blends also produce significant levels of air pollution, reduce fuel efficiency and can damage engines.

Renewable energy has a similar purpose. It's not meant to replace energy based upon hydrocarbons - nuclear energy can do a better job of that. Renewables are meant to eliminate cheap (affordable) energy and to gradually wean people off of energy, getting them accustomed to having less of it. With any luck, the elderly will die off as a result and the majority of the rest of the population will choose not to procreate because living conditions are so poor.
Whenever a "solution" makes no sense, there's a stated reason why it is required and the real reason why it's being pursued. Always remember that.
