I have built 3 bikes in my life and the cost can be insane or minimal it depends on how far you want to go. If you have the tools etc it is a mission of love, imo it has nothing to do with being a clever Guinness that does help, it is always about the love of making something!!Do you keep the bikes after you’ve built them, or sell them?
Why don’t you build two at a time - seems a lot of the work is in design and manufacturing; making two of everything would reduce the cost a lot I’d have thought?
Very true Wayne, very true indeed, just ask Exi !!I have built 3 bikes in my life and the cost can be insane or minimal it depends on how far you want to go. Please don't: you will never finish itAhhh, so that's what I need to do a "quick" build, a mantlepiece clock !!![]()
Three years! So, Exi, it's finished ................... & all in under three years !!
Well, when I say finished the fork job just needs the 3D printed mudguard brackets swoping over to the alloy ones when they are ready, but I'm sticking with FINISHED for all intent & purpose
View attachment 170420
The alloy mudguard brackets will have cap head bolts fitted which will lie flush with the bracket surface, for some reason unknown, the printer decided to print the counter-bores in the rear half of each bracket
I got the rear indicators to swop over too for the Triumph ones so they match the from ones, but that's not part of the fork swop so doesn't count !!
The bike is just having it's MOT as I write this post so hopefully it will be back on the road after 2:30pm when I go to pick it up
