Greed predates all of those things.
"Societal greed" is simply a way of outsourcing guilt from one's unworthy thoughts.
Outsourcing one's personal responsibility, for your own greed, for charity or for anything else, is an attempt at evading your own obligations and it is this that is at the heart of society's current ills..
I notice of late that you have been doing a lot of capital letter shouty posts, are you frustrated in some way my friend ? Perhaps being in Government has meant the deputy PM is busy so you have been unable to get your hands on Ange`s Flanges and you are now taking your frustration out on your good buddies here @ DC ?
If things get too much and you really need a little pussy then see if you have something like this in your local area ? You can make an appointment and pop in for coffee, cake and a cat cuddle .

Same down here. A foot of snow is melting and it's going to make a right mess. The wind has picked up though so hopefully it will dry the ground out. Don't care for the shitty wet snow but I was enjoying the cold. Sun, clear skies and nice hard frosts to -10 would do me fine all the way til March. Beats wind and rain. My house has been warm as toast as well with a nice thick blanket of snow on the roof. Back to wind and rain and a draughty house...+8 today
