No. No particular reason.
Talking of which, I had the displeasure of seeing some BBC 'news' last night where some 'Iranian' defector bint was being interviewed about how there had been two foiled plots on her life - and maybe third. She was obviously looking for attention by her manner, and, lets be clear here - if Iranian paid assassins were looking to off her, they would have done so long ago.

More Iran bad propaganda (not saying Iran isn't necessarily bad, but there is no reason to start a war with them over some deranged birds rambling paranoia)

Better to start one over a deranged presidents ramblings for sure... I'm joking obviously... 🙃

Lady K was telling me earlier about an article she read related the discovery of microplastics in placentas. Apparently this was first discovered in 2021.

About 11 years ago, I was tasked with sourcing plastic in the UK for sending to China for recycling.

Although we were talking about volumes up to 1000mt a month, I couldn't get any of the collectors to offer prices. There is something very fishy in the UK recycling business.

I'd be very surprised - shocked in fact - if many aspects of the recycling/sustainability "industry" were genuine.

Recycling of metals is probably real. Any commodity with intrinsic value is likely real. Actual junk though - you can't make money from useless junk so you have to invent an industry and a mythology around it in order to do so.

In Ireland it's buried plain and simple.. Couple of the polish lads I have are related to lads working in recycling.. One of the lads jacek was in having lunch with us one day and my brother an eco warrior was washing a yogurt tub for recycling.. He started laughing and said by Tuesday afternoon every week they have reached their max on recycling so it just get buried or burnt don't bother recycling 😆

Which makes it stranger...if that's what happens over here, why not sell it to us? I reckon it gets incinerated - some power stations buying it and saying they're using wood pellets (made in Canada and shipped here...very fucking green!).

Drax power station uses 7M tonnes of wood pellets per year!

Is it only me that notices the regular occurrence of plastic re-cycling centres bursting into flames

I do hope they have insurance :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Populism imperilling global fight against climate breakdown, says John Kerry 🤡

The populist backlash against net zero around the world is imperilling the fight against climate breakdown and must be countered urgently or we face planetary destruction “beyond comprehension”, the US climate chief, John Kerry, has warned.

“People are not being told the truth about what the impacts are from making this transition [to net zero greenhouse gas emissions],” he said. “They’re being scared, purposely frightened by the demagoguery that is oblivious to the facts or distorting the facts. And in some cases outright lying is going on.” :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
