Anyway, the topic of Trump came uo and I said his speech to the UN was good, calling out the climate crisis as a scam…and it turns out sus is quite the climate warrior. She said “so you don’t believe the climate’s warming”? I said it’s always doing something, always has, always will.
“So you’re saying since the start of the Industrial Revolution, that hasn’t altered the climate”?
Me: No. How much of the atmosphere is co2?
Her: …I don’t know
Me: It’s 0.004%…4 parts per million. Do you know how much is blamed on human activity?
Her: No, but…
Me: It’s 3%.

People, including those who can seem intelligent, just don’t have the inclination to employ critical thought, and instead think remembering what they hear on TV or read in a newspaper, is the truth.
The facts are usually out there - it doesn’t take a lot of finding. An enquiring mind will find them.

This could be challenged on two points. If the penalty is on weight then it shows the environmental claim is false. The second false claim is that they are dangerous, despite every single one meeting legal requirements when built new in regards to design but also at mot time, they comply with mot standards
